I’m Bonita Joyner Shields, the editor of Cornerstone Connections. My job is to recruit writers to write the different parts of the Bible study guide, including student lessons, the teacher’s guide, topic resources, and supporting materials. I also edit the materials and send them to a team of theologically trained readers who give feedback and suggested changes. And where would we be without the Internet? Thus, I also oversee the maintenance of the Cornerstone Connections Web site.
I haven’t always been the editor of Cornerstone Connections! I served as an associate pastor of a local church for seven years. I then became an assistant editor of Adventist Review, the “flagship,” or leading journal of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. During that time, I helped to launch KidsView, the kids’ version of Adventist Review. You may have read that when you were younger. (You may still want to read it. If so, we promise not to tell anyone!)

If you have questions or comments about the Sabbath School lessons for teens, please contact me. I will do my best to reply within seven days or less.

Cornerstone Connections is the Sabbath School Bible study guide for high school teens. It is based on a four-year “through-the-Bible” study curriculum. The lessons are intended for teens to use in their daily Bible study and to provide the basis for learning and discussion in youth Sabbath School.
Cornerstone Connections is the teen component of the overall Sabbath School Bible study curriculum produced by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Cornerstone Connections provides three months’ worth of daily Bible study lessons at a time. Teens can study the lessons alone or with a parent, pastor, or group of friends.
Each lesson is based on a partial or complete Bible story, and each one provides questions on the story itself, a thought question for discussion, and verses from elsewhere in the Bible to bring out lessons that can be applied to the teen’s life. A couple of pertinent quotes complete the Bible study.

Cornerstone Connections is a four-year “through-the-Bible” study curriculum for young people in the teen
years. It uses Ellen G. White’s Conflict of the Ages series to offer commentary on the Biblical text. The
White Estate is creating adaptations of these books for young adults. Read about the whole series here.

The Cornerstone Connections Web site was written and edited by Tim Lale, who also maintains the site on a weekly basis. Design of the site is by Clayton Kinney, on a template built in the Simple Updates content management system.
